Microsoft Surface

Microsoft Surface (codename Milan) is a multi-touch product from Microsoft which is developed as a software and hardware combination technology that allows a user, or multiple users, to manipulate digital content by the use of gesture recognition. This could involve the motion of hands or physical objects. It was announced on May 29, 2007 at D5 conference.Targeted customers are in the hospitality businesses, such as restaurants, hotels, retail, public entertainment venues and the military for tactical overviews. The preliminary launch was on April 17, 2008, when Surface became available for customer use in AT&T stores. The Surface was used by MSNBC during its coverage of the 2008 US presidential election; and is also used by Disneyland’s future home exhibits, as well as various hotels and casinos. The Surface was also featured in the CBS series CSI: Miami and EXTRA! Entertainment news. As of March 2009, Microsoft had 120 partners in 11 countries that are developing applications for Surface's interface. For see the features and ect

Phones of the future

Concept future phone, (PCOD) The Personal Communications and Organization Device. This device combines – smart phone (with video calling), camera, GPS, mp3 player, storage (for photos, files etc.), time/date/calendar, games, app’s and much more. The PCOD would also come with changeable holder/straps in various colors and designs - and the screen wallpaper can be changed to match the chosen holder.

This would be the default screen (above), showing the time, date, network connection icons, first two chosen app’s, and the keypad button. All of this UI would be configurable to whatever the owner prefers. For example – the user could choose which two app’s show first (more app’s are available by scrolling up or down), and the keypad button/icon could be changed for something else like favorite contacts etc.

Solar Trees During The Day to Illuminate The Night

Eco Factor: Solar-powered streetlight concept.

Fusing nature and technology, designers over at Vinaccia Integral Design have conceptualized the Solar Tree – an innovative street lighting system that gets powered by renewable solar energy. The Solar Trees are a tribute to the energy and beauty of Mother Nature.

The tree-shaped structures have six branches, each of which is equipped with monocrystalline silicon solar cells that generate up to 100W of clean electrical power. Since the panels are mounted at different angles, they help in generating a constant energy output. The electricity generated by the system is stored in onboard battery packs that can power the streetlight for up to four days without sun exposure.

The “trunk” of these solar trees is crafted from lightweight aluminum and is painted in different range of colors to suit the environment. The energy is supplied to a 48W LED lamp that has brightness equaling an ordinary 400W halogen lamp.

Aircraft The Future

This futuristic plane would be expected to achieve supersonic speeds, possibly surpassing the speeds of the supersonic transport planes that ran commercially in the late twentieth century. In terms of noise reduction, the future aircraft has been drawn featuring an inverted V wing stretched over its engines. The structure is intended to reduce the sound from annoying sonic booms. Additionally, future airplanes would aim to have relatively little impact on our environment, including green limits on pollution and fuel consumption. Aircraft utilizing similar design concepts might well become operational by the 2030s.

Beauty of Future Airplanes is More than Skin Deep
An 18-month NASA research effort to visualize the passenger airplanes of the future has produced some ideas that at first glance may appear to be old fashioned. Instead of exotic new designs seemingly borrowed from science fiction, familiar shapes dominate the pages of advanced concept studies which four industry teams completed for NASA’s Fundamental Aeronautics Program in April 2010.

Blackberry Empathy Phone

Communication technologies may allow interaction on an entirely new level; still users feel cramped to communicate their true feelings on certain occasions. Intended to integrate theconcept of social networking with human emotions, the new cellphone employs biometric technology to sense and share the true feelings to ensure a better communication among users. In recent past, social networking has emerged as a popular medium, especially among gen-next, to interact with friends and associates and discuss their day-to-day or business activities.

Making the most out of the new trend, designers are working on different portable gadgetsthat promises a better platform for social networking not only within the our walls but on the move as well. The “Blackberry Empathy” by designer Daniel Yoon is an identical phone concept that apart from regular verbal communication also enables the user to go through the activities and updates of their friends, while reading the emotional state, using a biometric ring, of the wearer.Imagine sharing your feelings not directly, but via the ring we mentioned. How cool is that? BlackBerry Empathy connects the user straight away to sites like FaceBook and MySpace for quick messaging and status updates. The device also comes with proximity sensors, allowing you to detect the emotions of the folks nearby through an emotion chart with a visual timeline.Empathy uses movable keys, a translucent tactile keyboard and a flexible OLED display, plus a HUD (heads up display). The keypad on this phone can change color according to the user’s emotions, that are sensed through messages, phones calls and biometric sensors. Does this new take on social networking scare you, or do you find the concept appealing?

The concept of Social networking through portable devices is already popular among the masses, but the biometric technology will just take it to another level. And with latest innovations in technology, the day isn’t too far when you would be able to do live video chats using your mobile handset on the go.

Compenion, Laptop from the future

The system contains of a personal computer you take with you during the day (middle), several context-oriented docking stations, for example a home entertainment station for your living room (left), a "senstylus pen" to control the computer and a leather etui.
The personal computer is a slider with hidden second touchscreen. The second OLED touchscreen serves both as monitorand keyboard. You can place exactly the controls there that you need at the moment or have individual styles and themes to fit your taste.
You can tap away by hand or use the "senstylus" pen to control it, and through a series of docking stations the Compenion will adapt to the environment where you're using it. For example, the home dock might have a projector for viewing video, while the office might include ergonomic stuff like an external keyboard.
This type of design looks like the trend for new laptops to come in the future.
Microsoft recently announced a new product called Surface. It allows people to touch and move objects on screen for everything from digital finger painting and jigsaw puzzles to ordering off a virtual menu in a restaurant. It has a fancy touch screen interface and no wires.
